University Hospital view from room 903, October 2018

My left knee arthroplasty is infectious for the second time.  Orthopedic resident and I discuss options:  try crazy long antibiotics and watch as my hip arthroplasties become infected, or do a final and soon above the knee amputation.  Dr Winn is my surgeon.  Erin asks the smart questions, which Dr. Winn appreciated.  My 12 pound leg is gone, I wake up in Recovery singing with the joy of immense pain relief.  I get to go up in my bed to 903, and the care of my nursing staff is heavenly.

at last, all things are prepared for walk by waters.

Lots of drawings, and lots of heart, once bettered. The third edition. Published

First time ever, thoughts posted hot off the press.  Torn up books. loose pages, tossed salad paging,

School girls walking home with great hair and just the right crinoline, fine, well colored designs to catch the imagination of a girl gaining power over her life, her decisions, the results, the next thing that happens,.  I see them, and see eyes with the uncle or dad man, all are relaxed and open, giving friendly vibes.

Me and my dog.

My dog and me.

Friendly envibed.  Ah has spoken!

The artifact of art therapy, art in therapy, enabling art expression

Pull the sketchbooks apart.

Gather tidy stacks.

Wait, before that, dump all the stuff taking up room on the shelves.

Build the shelves, paint the wood.

I received an endowment to update my arcane studio/home. Spent a lot of boring time, dreaming, imagining, making a record, making idea marks in a spiral sketch pad.  SO MUCH BIG PAPER!!!!  When I'm not yet home, able at least to eat, dress, get around with the wheelchair, power scooter, ViaTransit gets me to outer locations with my friends and acquaintances there, moving and doing, decide and doing.

The books get gathered, all the valuables in the way get sold piece by piece.

I paint, therefore I am. No longer isolated. Integral. I am drawn to the paints and ink, amuse and inform.

home is in the world, a life.  I have art materials to amuse and describe where I often live: in the mind and imagination.

Wool knit cape, dress and cardi. Easy on and off: perfect for we who have stiff shoulders and elbows.

Wool knit uses 1 yard to make a poncho.  Keeps your torso warm while your arms are accessible for blood pressure cuff, getting blood work.  You have control over your own temperature without struggling with sleeves.  Design by Peggy Sagers.  See how to make it on her youtube station, Silhouette Patterns.
I'm using the Two Piece Top to make Empire dresses for comfy wheelchair style. I get several inches added to my sitting circumference and get the comfort of the knit top. I use a 4-6" pleat center back that releases to allow me to breathe and eat!  Handicap comfy, easy to wash. A mild mannered dress.

Silhouette Pattern's Giorgio's top, made with a lacy knit from Fabrics.com.  All cotton.  Now appearing as part of a RennFest fantasy costume.
