To Be a Handicapped Person

The ones who haven't the courage to speak their mind, to be what they are, not what they seem to be, take their mistaken identity and cram it onto me.

I haven't the energy to face the many-headed hydra erupting from this.
A scapegoat is always on the outside. To be a scapegoat is to BE outside.
Outside looking out. One step closer to the world I see that is outside the world they see.
Here, not even in a spaceship, there are enough resources for me to play, to laugh, to enjoy freedom.

Having a physical disability makes others sad

Surprise! Little girl! Having a physical disability makes others sad. Ho can you play with a handicap person? The risk of hurting feelings is great. The smile is pasted, and the words are courteous.

You're in the grocery store, using the electric cart. Eye level are small children. These people are keenly interested in looking into you through your eyes. Maybe their parents whisper Don't Stare! And Disability Mimi loses an honest appraisal and a chance to hear anything.

Parental Unit; to be looked at is to be human, to be ignored, bored.
